Yes, if your survey tool provides answers in an Excel (.xls or .xlsx) or CSV (.csv) format. Most existing tools provide options to export survey data into one or both of these formats. Yes, provided that the data can be exported and/or converted into the appropriate Excel format.
Yes, FTM Advanced Version provides the option to maps files in all of these formats. Open FTM Advanced, highlight the directory where the files are located, right-click and select the Map Files option. Note: The PDF file must be unprotected to map it with FTM.
FTM automatically selects the most relevant words keywords include both common and rare words based on the software algorithm. The software uses a lemmatizer to reduce a word to its base form before counting frequency. The software also removes stop words (e.g., of, at, no, not, on, etc.) that may impact the map results.
The algorithm that determines the most relevant keywords uses the following guidelines:
The words on the map are grouped based on frequency and proximity. Primary themes appear in the center of the map, then working outward, the secondary themes appear with weaker signals displaying on the outskirts of the map.
Analogy of word/island grouping: I have several friends (only one who is a best friend), so the software would group me with my best friend. This does not mean I don't have other friends, just that I am most commonly seen with my best friend.
FTM automatically groups the plural and singular forms of words together during the analysis.
All Latin-based languages can be mapped using FTM, including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. FTM does not currently support Asian languages, Greek, or Russian.
Eaagle Full Text Mapper is technically based on Eaagle Studio, developed under the authority of Professor Michel Authier. Professor Authier is a renowned mathematician who developed recursive topology, a new family of systemic mathematics. His findings spearheaded a whole new field of data mapping and management.
The underlying principle of recursive topology is that the true wealth of information is found in the links between words and expressions, i.e., the distances between the words and expressions in a database or a document.
Eaagles approach differs radically from semantic approaches. Distances are identified, calculated, and mapped based on proprietary algorithms developed by Professor Authier. As a result,
Eaagle provides two levels of support: Bronze and Silver. For more information, please see the Support Programs page in the Support section.
FTM and other Eaagle products are available directly through Eaagle and our online store at www.eaagle.com. Quantity discounts of up to 50% off list price are available. The Academic Edition of FTM is available to qualified customers at approximately 75% off standard list price.
